"Pet Sounds" is widely considered one of the best pop albums of all time, and the man responsible for its creation, Brian Wilson, brought the tour celebrating its 50 year anniversary to the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center Concert Hall in Birmingham, Alabama on May 9th. The co-founder of The Beach Boys was joined on stage by another original members, Al Jardine, as they took the audience in Birmingham on a trip through an absolutely classic album.
It was a definite pleasure getting to see someone responsible for such a great collection of music perform on stage. The crowd, which covered all ages, must have felt the same way as Wilson and his band played a set of non-"Pet Sounds" Beach Boys classics and then a set where he performed "Pet Sounds" in full. It was a fitting presentation for the album's 50th anniversary tour.
