The Hollywood Horses in Concert
Birmingham, Alabama | November 17th, 2018
Recap + Concert Photography
The Old Paints are dead, but, in their place, The Hollywood Horses live. That was the message guests at a holiday themed house party in Birmingham, Alabama received on November 17th. The main attraction was billed as being the last show The Old Paints would ever play. Staying true to their word, the band known as The Old Paints are done and marked their end with a retrospective slide show. As soon as that slide show was done, though, the band made the announcement about the beginning of The Hollywood Horses and their new album, “Funny Sexy Cool”, which will be dropping in the winter of 2019. The band then proceeded to showcase their guests with a great and energetic performance that marked a proper start for era of The Hollywood Horses.
On a personal note, this show was special for a couple of reasons. The members of the previous Old Paints and now Hollywood Horses are good friends of mine so it was a delight getting to photograph this musical transition. It was also the 93rd show I photographed for 2018, which matches my overall number for 2017. Everything I do from here until the end of the year will be increasing my personal record as I march to shoot 100 shows in a year.
