It was a chilly night in Birmingham, Alabama and at Sloss Furnaces on April 19th, but the sold out crowd at the venue didn't seem to mind. The focus on their minds was to fully enjoy the show by Judah & the Lion, who made a specific request to do this show. The concert was part of their "Going to Mars" tour, which visited Birmingham in the fall of 2017. Since the band loves the area so much, and the fans love in them kind, Judah & the Lion made sure this show at Sloss Furnaces was one of the last gigs on the tour.
This was my third time seeing and photographing Judah & the Lion, and I must say this was definitely the best show of the bunch. The one back in the fall of 2017 was really good, but the aesthetics of Sloss Furnaces, the configuration of the stage, and the production involved in the show all made for a top notch experience. I mean those things and the fact Judah & the Lion are super fun performers, who know how to make sure their audience has a really good time at their concerts. I can't forget that.
Definitely check out Judah & the Lion if you get a chance in the future. This tour might be wrapping up, but this is a band that translates so well in terms of live performances that I can't see them staying off the road for too long.
