Lemuria decided to make Birmingham, Alabama the final stop on their tour to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the album, "Get Better". As a result, group came to The Syndicate Lounge in the Magic City on March 2nd and put on a great performance in front of a very supportive and welcoming audience.
I gave "Get Better" a listen before I left for the show, and I really enjoyed the punkish 90's indie vibe it gave off, even though it was released in the mid to late 2000's. The sound of that album is a sound that will always register a positive reaction with me.
Unfortunately, I didn't get to see a lot of the show as I had to pull double duty and cover another performance before this one. That one ran a bit late, and I had to scramble to get to The Syndicate in time to see Lemuria's set.
What I did see was a great band putting on a performance befitting the album and the venue. Both the band and audience seemed to be really enjoying themselves and having a good time while the sounds of "Get Better" filled the room.
I am glad I got to see what I did from Lemuria's set because it really was a fun one and really did highlight the strengths of "Get Better".
