Birmingham, Alabama's Seasick Records was packed on Friday, April 6th as The Brummies put on an in-store performance to celebrate the release of their new album, "Eternal Reach". The Brummies are based in Birmingham, Alabama so lots of friends and family were also on hand to see the band entertain on a Friday night.
Music fans in the area might recognize The Brummies from their previous incarnation as John and Jacob. After touring in England, the band kept being called "Brummies" due to the fact they were from Birmingham, the Alabama version and not the United Kingdom version. The name stuck, as did the musical influences of England, as the group refocused their sound and approach. Their sound has a lot of 1960's English rock in it, but it also has modern influences that create a really fun blend of things.
It was definitely fun catching this in-store performance at Seasick. I hadn't seen the band perform in quite sometime so it was nice to see them back on stage and entertaining. The group has a lot of talent, and they represent the Birmingham area quite well. Here's hoping "Eternal Reach" turns out to be a success for the group.
